Amanda Weaver Jacks
May 2, 1969 to October 15, 2014
LOGANSPORT - Amanda "Mandy" (Weaver) Jacks, 45, Logansport, passed away at 9:37 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at St. Francis Hospital following a courageous battle with leukemia.
Born May 2, 1969 in Winamac, she was the daughter of the late Edward James Weaver and Carolyn Jane Goodnight Weaver. Her mother survives in Monticello. She was engaged to be married toTom VanEs, who survives in Logansport.
Surviving with her mother and fiance are her daughter, Rebecca "Beca" Jacks (Jesse Conklin) of Logansport; her grandson, Braxton Conklin, of Logansoprt; seven siblings, Fred Weaver of Oregon, Sandra (Jon) Schmaltz of Royal Center, George Weaver of Idaville, Steve Weaver (Rhonda McRae) of Royal Center, Phillip (Jerica) Weaver of Burnettsville, Jane Weaver (Brad Ewing) of Burnettsville and Pete Weaver of Idaville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and one niece Corina Weaver.
A 1987 graduate of Pioneer High School, Mrs. Jacks worked as an assembler for the Braun Corporation. She enjoyed being outdoors - whether it was her love of gardening, canoeing along the river or just gathering around a campfire - the beauty of nature was a real joy in her life. Music was her passion, particulary classic rock. But most of all, she loved being with her family and friends.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday (Oct. 21), at Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport,. with celebrant Patricia Fisher officiating. Interment will be in the Bell Center Cemetery.
