Vivian A. Rude
September 15, 1922 to August 11, 2014
KEWANNA - Vivian Avanell Rude, 91, of Winamac passed away at 2:22 a.m., Monday, Aug., 11, at her residence, surrounded by her family.
Born on Sept. 15, 1922 in Star City, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Pearl Stoner.
Survivors include her children, Richard S. Rude (Rebecca) of Royal Center, Carolyn S. Wischmann (David) of New Port Richey, Fla., Vivian Howton (Richard) of Elkhart, Ginger Hoekstra (David) of Zeeland, Mich., half brother, Don Dempsey of Palmetto, Fla., 20 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, William Mitchell, daughter, Alice Howard, and brothers, Harold, and Robert Stoner, and sister, Mary Key, one infant grandson and one infant great grandson.
Mrs. Rude was a 1940 Royal Center High School graduate. She was a retired attendant at the Logansport State Hospital and she was also a homemaker. She was a member of Kewanna Church of Christ, Evergreen Rebekah Lodge #57 in Rochester and the Pulaski County Hospital Women’s Auxiliary.
Graveside services will be private at Star City Cemetery with Pastor Aaron McCombs officiating. A Celebration of Life Service will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 14, at Kewanna Church of Christ.
