Evelyn E. Markley

February 17, 1925 to November 17, 2013

WINAMAC - Evelyn E. Markley, 88, of Kewanna,  died at 6:52 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 17, at the IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

She was born Feb. 17, 1925, in Winamac, to the late Carl Elias and Ethel Eva Hartwick Hall. She married Harris John Markley in 1962. He died Oct. 1, 1978.

Mrs. Markley had worked at Switches at Leiters Ford, and at Kewanna Metal Specialties in Kewanna. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary Post 1121 in Kewanna. She was a member of the FOE 2580 in Winamac, for over 30 years. She enjoyed riding her three-wheeled bicycle, making sock monkeys and collecting chicken memorabilia. She also enjoyed playing cards. She always had a family gathering on the third of July during the Kewanna fireworks that she called the "Happy Everything Party". 

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday (Nov. 21), 3, at the funeral home wiith Pastor Todd Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Winamac Cemetery, Winamac
