Norma J. Messer
June 24, 1939 to July 17, 2013
WHEATFIELD - Norma J. Messer, 74, of Francesville passed away Wednesday, July 17.
On June 24, 1939, she was born to the late Vollie and Eliza (Sexton) Whitaker in Jasper County. She married Jasper “J.C.” Messer on July 21, 1956 at United Baptist Church of Gilliam Township, in Jasper County. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children: Kevin Messer, Rex (Sandra) Messer, and Shelly (Rodney) Patton, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters: Aldean Owens and Mary Messer.
She was preceded in death by her brother Claude, and sister Audrey.
Mrs. Messer loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and homemaker.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. (CST) on Friday, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. (CST), Saturday (July 20), at the United Baptist Church of Gilliam Township, with Rev. Johnny Miller officiating. Interment will be at Independence Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
