Kenneth D. Tiede

May 18, 1924 to July 7, 2013

FRANCESVILLE - Kenneth Devon Tiede, 89, of Francesville, passed away at 12:30 a.m., Sunday, July 7, at Parkview Haven Retirement Home in Francesville.

He was born on May 18, 1924 to the late John C. and Ferne Riggs Tiede. On June 26, 1949, he married Marjean Moncel in Francesville. She passed away July 4, 1999.

Taylor Tiede, Granddaughter

Mr. Tiede was a graduate of Medaryville High School. After high school, he worked at Kingsbury Ordinance Plant and Gutwein Milling Co. He was the "dynamite man" for Ward Stone Co. in Francesville and went on to haul livestock for Auggie Moncel. After retirement, he enjoyed working on the farm with Big Mike.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post #228 in Francesville. He enjoyed raising roses and giving them to all the ladies in town. He was a Chicago Cubs and NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday (July 10), at the funeral home with Pastor James Ketchen officiating. Burial will be in Bowman White Post Cemetery, Francesville. The American Legion will conduct military graveside services.
