Donald D. Myers

FRANCESVILLE - Donald D. Myers, 83, of Francesville, passed away at 6:10 p.m., Sunday, May 5, at IU Health Arnett Hospital, n Lafayette.
He was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Francesville, to the late Roy Jacob and Edith Anna Grock Myers.

Mr. Myers graduated from Francesville High School in 1947. Following graduation, he worked for his father at Myers Garage in Francesville. He owned and operated the garage alongside his brother, Bud, for many years. From 1957 to 1970, he drove a school bus for the Francesville school. Mr. Myers and his wife Judy purchased the "Drive-In" in 1960. He sold the business in 1970 and moved to Pennsylvania with his family. While in Pennsylvania he owned and operated a restaurant and sold real estate. Upon returning to Francesville in 1975, he went to work at the Medaryville Correctional Center where he worked as a correctional officer until his retirement in 1994.
Mr. Myers was a member of the First Christian Church of Francesville. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Monon and a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Francesville. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and NASCAR fan. He especially enjoyed helping to restore his homeplace in Francesville.
Friends may call from 12 noon to1 p.m., Wednesday, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., (Wednesday, May 8), at the funeral home with Pastor James Ketchen officiating. Burial will be in Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.
Memorial donations may be given to the First Christian Church of Francesville.
