August 4, 1938 to March 7, 2013

LOGANSPORT - Wayne E. Davis, 74, Winamac, passed away at 3:10 p.m., Thursday, March 7, at Hickory Creek at Winamac.

Born Aug. 4, 1938, in Logansport, he was the son of Roy and Francelia Taylor Davis. He was married in 1994 to Seair Sue Gibbs, who survives, residing in Star City.

He is also survived by two sons, Christopher A. Davis and James W. Davis; two daughters, Elizabeth and Terry; four sisters, Bessie Crain, Karen Sutton, Janet Platt and Joan McCloskey; step sons, Everett Jackson and Bradley Gibbs; step daughters, Susan DeWitt and Wanda Camp, 14 grandchildren, 12 step grandchildren, four great grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Three brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Davis was a retired Sergeant Major in the U. S. Army. Following retirement he was a truck driver for several companies. He was a 1955 graduate of Metea High School and a 1979 graduate of Indiana University. He was a member of the Winamac VFW and American Legion Posts. He was also a member of Tipton Masonic Lodge.

Visitation will be Monday, (March 11), from 4 to 7 p.m. at Kroeger Funeral Home, Logansport. Interment with full military honors will be private in Buffalo Cemetery at a later date.
