Helen I. Tanner
September 1, 1921 to March 18, 2013
MEDARYVILLE - Helen Irene Tanner, 91, of The Christian Village, Lincoln, IL, formerly of Medaryville, passed away at 5:18 a.m., Monday, March 18, at Abe Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, IL.
She was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Medaryville, to the late Nathaniel and Ina Thompson Hall Swisher. She married Ezra E. Tanner in Michigan City. He died April 20, 1974.

Linda I. Seggelke (Ed), Lincoln, IL, Daughter
Dana G. (Randy) Berkshire, Lincoln, IL, Daughter
Fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and countless other relatives
She was preceded in death by:
Terry E. Tanner, Son
Three sisters (Lottie, Carrie, Opal) and three brothers (Robert, Omer, Charles)
Mrs. Tanner lived most of her life in Medaryville and was a long-time member of the Medaryville Christian Church. She worked at the Medaryville Garment Factory for many years and was an avid sports fan, especially fond of the Chicago Cubs and Indiana basketball. She loved life, especially fun, food, friends, family and faith. All her children were with her at her passing. They sang hymns, read scripture, and prayed with her.
Friends may call after 9:30 a.m., Friday, at Medaryville Christian Church. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m., (Friday, March 22), at the chruch with Don Nedza, Tom Tanner, and Chaplain Ryan Edgecombe officiating. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery, Medaryville. There will also be a memorial service at 10 a.m. (CT), Thursday, March 21, at the Christian Nursing Home in Lincoln, IL.
