Jeannetta M. Shafer

ROYAL CENTER - Jeannetta M. Shafer, 94, of Provo, Utah, formerly of Lucerne and Rochester, passed away at 9:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 1.
Born Dec. 10, 1917, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Emmett O. and Beatrice G. (McClellan) Day. On Aug. 27, 1939, she married Carl Dean Shafer. He preceded in death in 1994.
Survivors include her daughter, LeAnn Shafer Eliason of Provo, Utah; sons, Steven C. Shafer of Wheat Ridge, Colorado and Jame M. Shafer of Black Hawk, Colorado. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her twin sister, Geneva Day Shafer in 2004 and brothers, Wayne Day in 1991 and Melbourne Day in 1965.
Mrs. Shafer was a 1936 Star City High School graduate and a graduate of Logansport Business College. She was a former agent for the Fulton County Agricultural Stabilization Committee. She was a member of Zion Methodist Church in Lucerne.
Private services and burial will be held at Zion Methodist Cemetery at a later date.
Local arrangements have been entrusted to Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center.
