MEDARYVILLE - Harold L. Ailes, 77, of Medaryville, passed away at 2:45 p.m., Friday, Sept. 28, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.

He was born Nov. 19, 1934, in Kouts, to the late John "Jack" and Laura Peck Ailes. He married Betty Poisel on Sept. 29, 1956 in Medaryville. She survives.

Grandchildren Mike (Heather) Ross, Amber (Nick) Hawkins, Nicole (David Saltsman) Conley, Justin (Breanna Tolson) Burch, and Angela (Brandon) Floyd; and step-grandchildren Roger Frinkel, Jr., and Joe (Britnee Eldridge) Frinkel; 9 Great Grandchildren and 4 Step Great Grandchildren.

Mr. Ailes was a longtime resident of Medaryville. He served as a volunteer fireman for 20 years and had been assistant chief for 2 years. He had also been reserve deputy town marshall for many years. He was baptized in the Medaryville Christian Church. In recent years, he attended the Medaryville Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and kids and doing yard work. He especially enjoyed helping others. He loved his family very much.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Medaryville. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Monday (Oct, 1), at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Dewlen and Pastor Bill McNabney officiating. Burial will be in White Post Cemetery, Medaryville.

Memorial donations may be given to the family.
