Francis E. Parker

November 5, 1922 to August 1, 2012

MEDARYVILLE - Lt Col Francis Earl Parker USAF (Ret), 89, of Moscow, TN, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, in Moscow, TN.

He was born Nov. 5, 1922, in Medaryville, to the late Henry A. and Stella May Record Parker.

Mr. Parker worked for the Motorola Corporation following his graduation. In 1942 he was accepted for pilot traing in the Army Air Force and received his wings and 2nd Lt. bars in 1944. He flew a P-47 Thuderbolt in the Battle of the Bulge. He flew supplies into Berlin in 1949 and flew 80 combat missions in a B-26 in Korea. He flew a total of 133 combat missions during his career. He also flew B-47s for the Strategic Air command. He retired from the Air Force in 1965. Following his retirement, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing and breeding and training Tennessee walking horses.

A graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday (Aug. 9), at Independence Cemetery, Medaryville. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted.
