Priscilla Briney
April 16, 1925 to July 4, 2012
KEWANNA - Priscilla “Pauline” Briney, 87, of Winamac passed away at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 4, at Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac.
She was born on April 16, 1925 in Walnut, Ind., the daughter of the late Alex and Ordelia (O'Dell) Parman. On June 4, 1942, she married Cecil Raymond Briney in Rochester. He preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 1987.
Survivors include sons, Raymond Lee Briney and wife Karen of Warsaw, John W. Briney and wife Jackie of Kewanna, James A. Briney and wife Kathy of Rochester, David J. Briney and wife Celinda of Winamac and Roy E. Briney of Kewanna; and daughter, Ruth Ann Nicholson and husband Jack of Martinsville; 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by 13 siblings.
Mrs. Briney formerly worked at Kewanna Metal Specialties. She was a member of Winamac Church of Nazarene and Sharon Pilgrim Holiness Church. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, and spending time with family and friends. She was a natural caregiver and enjoyed caring for older folks. She was also active in her Bible Study group.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday (July 7) at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Kewanna Chapel with Harold Smith officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
