MEDARYVILLE - Melvin D. Owens, 81, of Medaryville,  passed away at 6:36 p.m., Saturday, March 10, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.

He was born July 5, 1930, in Parr, to the late Omer James and Beatrice Janie Jones Owens. He married Velma Moore on Oct. 20, 1950 in Rensselaer. She survives.

Mr. Owens was a member of the Ironworkers Local #379. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He liked camping, traveling & fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday (March 15) at the funeral home with Rev. Elmer Conley officiating. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery in Medaryville.
