KNOX - Doris E. Winters, 85, of Largo, FL, formerly of Knox, passed away Jan. 17, 2012 at her home.

She was born Jan. 22, 1926 in Bremen, to the late James and Odetta Mobie Kipfer and lived in Largo for five years, coming from Knox. On July 31, 1965, she married Robert Winters, who preceded her in death in 1998.

Survivors include five grandchildren, Cherie (Paul Maccihone) Braun-Diaz of Seminole, FL, Todd Braun of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Brent Braun of Winamac, Drew (Lisa) Braun of Belleair Beach, FL and Melissa (Nathan) Dennis of Winamac; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Norma Trine of Tipton, and her beloved dog, Erin.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Braun and Rebecca Jensen, and two sisters, Delores and Dorothy.

Mrs. Winters was the Starke County Veteran Service Officer for 17 years. She worked in the Starke County Treasurer's office for several years and was the past-secretary of the Starke County Democrat Central Committee and the past- president of the Pulaski County Democrat Women's Club.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. (CST), Monday (Jan. 30), at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel with Rev. Ed Hasnerl officiating. Burial will be in Fletcher Cemetery, Hamlet. Friends may call Monday after 12 noon until the time of services.
