WINAMAC - Anna Elizabeth Durkee, 98, Medaryville (formerly of Francesville), passed away at 8 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 7, at Kindred Hosital, Mishawaka.

She was born Dec. 31, 1913, in Pierce, TX, to the late Arthur C. and Rhoda A. Shoptaugh Armstrong. She was married in March 28, 1937, in Hammond, to Russell Durkee. He passed away in 1991.

Mrs. Durkee was a graduate of Hammond High School, where she participated in the school's orchestra. She was a former resident of Hebron and Francesville. She resided in Medaryville the past 12 years. She was a member of the Francesville Christian Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading books, and gardening.

Friends may call after 12 noon Friday, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville. The funeral wervice will follow at 1 p.m., (Friday, Jan. 13), at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.

Memorial donations may be given to the family.
