Pulaski County CDC executive director Nathan Origer reports the preliminary results of this sale indicate that Baird & Co. offered an interest rate of between 3.85% and 3.86% while offering a premium that netted the project budget an additional of almost $550,998, funds not subject to the threshold.
Origer adds that the project contractor, Tonn and Blank Construction, has already had the project superintendent on site. Now that the bond sale has occurred, the public will be seeing more activity.
On Wednesday (May 29), Tonn and Blank's fencing subcontractor will be installing the site-perimeter fence. This will encompass the entire courthouse square, including sidewalks on the north, west, and south sides of the building. The public is advised that the sidewalks on the north and west sides of Main and Market Streets, respectively, will have to be used beginning on this date. The east-side sidewalk (along the west side of U.S. 35/Monticello Street) will remain open.
Origer reports the installation of fencing will also close much of Meridian Street. That part of Meridian Street parallel and providing access to Howard's Marathon (about 66-feet in length) is a public street in the Town of Winamac's street inventory; it will remain open. However, through access on Meridian Street will not be possible.
Additionally, the westernmost part of Meridian Street, providing access to parking spots in front of the justice center and on the western part of the south side of the courthouse square will be open to provide parking for justice-center visitiors, but, again through access will not be possible.
