The acquisition, confirmed Jan. 1, combines Link Environmental’s experience and expertise with MEI’s multi-state presence and brand strength to establish “a powerful partner” for businesses in the territories they serve.
“We are excited to welcome Link Evironmental to the MEI family,” said MEI President Mark Clindaniel. “Their skilled staff will compliment our team, and position the company for future growth.”
Don Link added. “We’ve known and worked with Mark over the years, and have always admired MEI’s dedication to selling only the highest quality products in the industry. Our goal is to compliment and support their professional mission to serve and strengthen the waste industry.”
Link Environmental will remain in its current Winamac location. Don Link will continue to serve as general manager, with John Wheeler as parts manager, Angie Thompson as office manager, and industry icon Mary Sue Link.
Municipal Equipment Inc. (MEI) has served the waste and recycling business for over 50 years and is now one of the leading suppliers of refuse, recycling, and street sweeping equipment in the Midwest, serving government and private sector customers throughout Kentucky, Tennessee and Southern Indiana.
Link Environmental Equipment was established in 1987 by the late Don Link to provide complete service to the waste industry. Now in its second generation, the company provides quality environmental equipment for the waste and recycling industries, maintaining complete service, installation and replacement parts departments at its Winamac facility.
