Assisted living services continue to be a growing area of interest and need. It is for people who need help with daily care, but not as much help as a nursing home provides. Assisted living residents live in their own apartments and share common areas. They have access to many services, including up to three meals a day; assistance with personal care; help with medications, housekeeping, and laundry; 24-hour supervision, security, and on-site staff; and social and recreational activities.
Parkview Haven has provided the following information for frequently asked questions:
Isn’t Assisted Living expensive? There are different ways you can pay to live in Assisted Living: Private Pay – which means you pay the monthly rent; or with the Medicaid Waiver. If you qualify financially for the Medicaid Waiver, it could cover your costs to live at Parkview Haven. The Medicaid Waiver program gives individuals the freedom to receive assistance while living at home or within an assisted living community.
How do I know if I will qualify for the Medicaid Waiver? Having income and/or assets over Medicaid’s limit(s) does not mean an applicant cannot still qualify for IN Medicaid. There are a variety of planning strategies that can be used to help persons who would otherwise be ineligible to become eligible. Some of these strategies are fairly easy to implement, and others, exceedingly complex. A couple strategies are a Miller Trust or an Irrevocable Funeral Trust.
What type of amenities does Parkview Haven offer? Parkview’s large one- or two-room apartments are geared toward singles or couples who desire independent living along with the security of readily available medical care. At Parkview Haven the apartments have:

- Modern bathing facilities
- Intercom and wireless Life Alert to nurse’s desk
