The Community Foundation of Pulaski County received the gift of farm property when the Ford estate was finalized this past fall. The Ford Farm, located in the Star City area, is approximately 193 acres.
“The Community Foundation is thrilled to enter the field of farm management and is in a contract with a local farmer,” stated Leeann Wright, executive director of the Community Foundation. “Not only were we blessed with Father Ford’s gift, but we are fortunate to have an excellent partnership with a farmer who is an excellent steward of that resource and understands the land,” she added.
The revenue generated from the farm goes to the Senn Family Scholarship endowment fund, which over time, will generate larger awards year after year. Ms. Wright added, “Father Ford’s generous gift makes a lasting and permanent impact in our community. What a wonderful legacy and meaningful way to encourage the growth of Pulaski County.”
