The hospital’s recent $2,500 contribution is the first installment of their $7,500 pledge to support the ongoing efforts of this significant initiative.
“This funding and pledge from PMH speaks volumes for the hospital’s recognition of the challenges facing our county and their belief in the work of the Community Foundation,” said Wendy Rose, CFPC Executive Director. “Pledging to support all three years of the initiative demonstrates understanding that progress in such complex areas will take time. We are proud and pleased that Pulaski Memorial Hospital is uniting with us,” said Rose.
PMH President and CEO Tom Barry said, “As one of the largest employers in the community, we recognize the need for future leaders in Pulaski County. We also plan to encourage employees and board members to participate in community training opportunities that will be offered.”
Lilly Endowment Inc.’s recent Community Leadership Grant to CFPC will partially fund the foundation’s aggressive Forward Thinking Leadership plan. Additional community investment is required to fully execute the initiative. Training opportunities and programs for elected officials, aspiring leaders, and community members are scheduled for next year with intensive community development sessions led by Indiana Communities Institute at Ball State University.
The Forward Thinking Leadership Initiative launched earlier this year in response to the community’s input through conversations held around the county. Four key areas of aspiration emerged, with the Community Foundation focusing its efforts on the need for visionary leadership and forward momentum for Pulaski County.
