The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the two-vehicle accident which occurred on SR 17 and 20A Road, near Culver. Mrs. Fisher was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma by Marshall County Coroner John Grolich.
A call reporting the accident was received by the Marshall County Central Dispatch just before 6 p.m., Monday.
Marshall County police report, according to witnesses, a southbound brown Buick LeSabre driven by Arthur Fisher of Monterey ran off the SR 17 roadway toward the southwest and then overcorrected, steering back east. The car then skidded into the northbound lane and was struck by an oncoming, northbound Ford Edge, driven by Shannon Lancaster of Rochester.
Fisher was transported via helicopter to Memorial Hospital in South Bend. The two children were transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne via helicopter.
Lancaster was transported to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth.
Police report they believe there was no alcohol or drugs involved with this automobile accident.
There is no update at this time of the injured parties involved.
The Marshall County Sheriff`s Department, Culver EMS, Culver Fire, and Fulton County EMS/Fire units responded to the scene.
