EPCS Superintendent Dara Chezem placed Tucker on leave Jan. 24, pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
“I deeply appreciate the opportunity given to me by the Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation and its students, who, despite my short tenure, I will forever cherish and hold in high regard,” Tucker said in a statement released through his Winamac attorney Justin Schramm. “This decision was a difficult one, but ultimately, I owe it to my family to seize a professional opportunity, when it arises. God bless, and thank you.”
As the situation with the school corporation is a personnel matter, the information regarding the reasons behind the administrative leave is protected by privacy laws.
Tucker was named the new principal at Winamac in April 2019, previously serving as principal at Pioneer High School in Royal Center. He has served as assistant principal or principal at several schools, including LaVille and North Judson. He has almost 20 years in education; 14 of those in administration.
