Chezem reported the district has launched a thorough internal investigation.
“Any additional comments at this time would compromise the investigation,” she said, “so we ask for the public's patience.
In the interim, Tucker's responsibilities will be covered by the school system's administrative team, Chezem said.
Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation will release information it can as it becomes available.
Formal approval of the leave is expected at Wednesday evening’s (Jan. 29) brief school board meeting, but no other discussion or action on the matter is scheduled.
Tucker was named the new principal at Winamac in April 2019, previously serving as principal at Pioneer High School in Royal Center. He has served as assistant principal or principal at several schools, including LaVille and North Judson. He has almost 20 years in education; 14 of those in administration.
