Also at the special meeting the board voted to contract with Administrator Assistance to provide an interim superintendent and to conduct a superintendent’s search.
Foster has served as EPCS superintendent since 2013. He was superintendent at Caston Schools from 2008 to 2013. He was assistant high school principal at Winamac from 2004 to 2007. His teaching experience also includes 11 years at Southeast Fountain.
The move to Veedersburg will provide the Fosters an opportunity to be closer to family in the area.
In comments made at his last meeting with the EPCS Board, he praised the staff at the school corporation and the support of the community at-large. He encouraged the school board to take its time to fill the superintendent's position, noting that he believes the school is in a position to attract some very good applicants.
In other business at the special meeting, the board accepted the resignations of the following:
Christine Hileman, speech language pathologist, submitted her resignation to accept a position at a different school corporation.
Jamie Wenzler, middle school special education teacher, submitted her resignation to accept a position at a different school corporation.
Foster recommended moving the July school board meeting to July 15 due to the holiday and timelines. After discussion, the board agreed to move the July meeting date as recommended.
