At about 8:30 p.m., Thursday, a relative of Heinsen's contacted the Lafayette Police to ask for a well-being check at her residence. When officers arrived at the residence, they discovered Heinsen's body inside the home.
Juan Manuel Roano, 62, has been identified as a person of interest in the homicide. Roano is believed to be driving a 2004-05 white Nissan Pathfinder with possible passenger side damage. Detectives continue to follow up on leads.
The police, nor the Tippecanoe County Coroner, have released the cause or time of death, but do believe the death occurred earlier in the week.

This case is under investigation by the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office, the Lafayette Police Department, and the Tippecanoe High Tech Crimes Unit.
Heinsen is a graduate of Winamac Community High School. Among survivors are her father, Dr. Charles Heinsen; her daughter, Megan Miles; sisters, Chantel Heinsen and Renata Heinsen; and brother, Mike Heinsen.
