Alliance Bank office manager presents a donation of $1,480 to Kim Markham co-founder of Courage Rock Stable in Monticello.
|
Courage Rock Stable was established in 2012 in memory of Kim and Kevin Markham’s son Seth. While serving in the U.S. Army, Seth died in a fire in 2012. At that time, Kim found strength and encouragement through friends, family and a therapeutic riding center in Ohio. When gifted a horse from that program, the Markhams decided to start a program of their own in White County.
Courage Rock was established as a non-profit 501c3 charity in June 2017. Today, Courage Rock offers veterans and military families the opportunity to learn horsemanship and animal care while training for competition, gaining trail riding confidence, or simply spending time with the animals. The benefits can be lowered blood pressure and heart rate, alleviated stress, and reduced symptoms of anxiety and depressions.
