With the board game “Food Fighters” students brainstormed ways to increase access to nutritious and affordable foods in “Chew on This,” and they also came to understand how the plants we eat need safe places to grow no matter the environment in the “Know to Grow” activity.
The activities in Food for Thought allowed students to explore and engage in science, math and engineering while thinking about how their choices affect not only their home, but their community and world.
Food for Thought was offered by the Pulaski County 4-H Program with supplies sponsored by the Indiana 4-H Foundation and Invenergy.
If you would like more information on this or any of the other activities offered, the 4-H program is administered through the Pulaski County Extension Office located at 125 S. Riverside Dr. in Winamac. The staff may be reached for questions at (574) 946-3412 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
