The expense of an international adoption quickly exceeds an average Hoosier family's resources; thus a committee of friends from their church has undertaken several fund-raising opportunities on their behalf.
Two events were held in September, a 5K Family Walk/Run and a pasta dinner.
The committee's on-going fund-raising effort, aimed at introducing Judah and his desperate need to the local community, is called the "Dollar-A-Mile" campaign, since committee members believe every dollar they raise brings Judah one mile closer to his new life and a loving family.
"We are all aware of people facing life's trials bravely and without any 'quick fixes,'" explains committee chairman Rob Howe, "but we are confident that as compassion stirs the heart for this helpless child, people will gladly respond generously with the end goal being a young live saved - a gift any community can cherish."
