Larry D. Galbreath
August 23, 1942 to January 29, 2020
WINAMAC - Larry Dean Galbreath, 77, of Winamac, passed away at 6:37 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Center for Hospice Care in South Bend.
He was born Aug. 23, 1942 in Winamac to the late Virgil L. and Zelma P. Russell Galbreath. He graduated from Winamac High School and studied electronic engineering at DeVry.

Mr. Galbreath worked many years as a milkman for Dean’s in Rochester, and as a delivery man for Kent Elevator in Winamac. He retired from Tippecanoe Beverage in Winamac where he was a delivery man for over 40 years. He was a longtime member of the Winamac Conservation Club. He was a firearms instructor for Pulaski County 4-H Shooting Sports Club and for Boy Scouts of America at Camp Buffalo. He also was an active volunteer with the Eric Corey Foundation Turkey Tracks Hunt . He was a former member of the Winamac Eagles. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing softball. He also enjoyed playing cards with the crew at McDonalds. He dedicated much of his retirement time to genealogy at the Pulaski County Public Library. He was a friend to many and did not know a stranger. Most of all, he was a loving dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be from 12 noon to 6 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 2; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 3, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Monday, (Feb. 3), at the funeral home with Rev. Edward Clark officiating. Burial will be at Winamac Cemetery in Winamac.

Waldo E. Ghormley Jr.
April 18, 1959 to January 26, 2020
WINAMAC - Waldo E. “Butch” Ghormley Jr., 60, of Kewanna (formerly of Winamac), passed away Sunday, Jan. 26.
He was born April 18, 1959 in Huntington, to Waldo E. and Sylvia Eckert Ghormley. On July 3, 2009, he married Sandra Hurlburt. She survives.

Mr. Ghormley worked most of his life as a welder. He enjoyed collecting die cast cars and working outdoors. He was a member of the Winamac VFW Auxiliary. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 1, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

Sharon R. Witt
August 1, 1943 to January 24, 2020
FRANCESVILLE - Sharon R. Witt, 76, of Sebring, Fla. (long-time resident of Francesville), passed away Friday, Jan. 24.
She was born Aug. 1, 1943 in Culver, to the late Lawrence and Martha Welch Lindvall. She married Norman Witt in 1962, and they owned Witt Insurance Agency in Francesville. He died in 2016.

Mrs. Witt and her husband were married for 53 years. They were both very active in the community for over 35 years. She enjoyed living in Sebring, FL for the past 20 years and never knew a stranger. She loved to dance, socialize, and enjoyed the warm sunshine. She always had a smile and will be missed.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date this summer. Private entombment will be at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville.

February 4, 1967 to January 22, 2020
FRISCO CITY, AL - Debra Kay Widner Walter, 52, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, at her home in Goodway, AL.
She was born Feb. 4, 1967. She was a 1986 graduate of Winamac Community High School. She was a resident of Goodway, AL for the past four years.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph E. Walter of Goodway, AL; her father, Francis "Bud" Widner and wife, Lois of Winamac; her mother, Barbara Hardy of Royal Center; her daughter, Starlett Widner of Valparaiso; three stepdaughters, Karie Walter of Huxford, AL, Kelie Stabler of Franklin, AL and Kimberlee Walter of Goodway, AL; two brothers, Frank Widner and wife, Kim of Winamac, and Fred Widner and wife, Jeannette of Monticello; two stepsisters, Janice Minix of Winamac, and Sharon Nielsen of St. Paul, IN; three stepbrothers; and four step-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 24, from 11a.m. to 12 noon, at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home, Frisco City, AL.

WINAMAC - Monte Lynn Day, 78, of Star City (formerly of Okeechobee, FL), passed away at 6:49 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 23, at his home.
He was born April 13, 1941 in Star City, to the late Wayne L. and Minnie Mae Moncel Day.

Mr. Day was a laborer at RCA in Monticello for 18 years. He worked at Walmart in Monticello, Rochester, and Okeechobee, Fla. for 11 years. He enjoyed racing Weedwacker tractor pullers. He loved going to flea markets. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

William H. Case
August 3, 1955 to January 24, 2020
WINAMAC - William Howard “Bill” Case, 64, of New Buffalo, MI, passed away at 4:24 p.m., Friday, Jan. 24, at the home of his sister in Winamac.
He was born Aug. 3, 1955 in Michigan City, to the late Willard Duane and Carolyn B. Specha Case.

Mr. Case worked as a carpenter most of his life. He enjoyed woodworking. He made lawn furniture, picnic tables and picture frames. He also made shelves and other wooden items. He enjoyed morning coffee with his friends in New Buffalo and going to flea markets. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his great niece.
A private family burial will take place at a later date.

Dean A. Gudeman
August 25, 1927 to January 20, 2020
FRANCESVILLE - Dean A. Gudeman, 92, of Monticello (formerly of Medaryville), passed away at 12:20 a.m., Monday, Jan. 20, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
He was born Aug. 25, 1927 in Francesville, to the late Albert and Eliza Getz Gudeman. He graduated from Francesville High School in 1945. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, stationed at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA. On March 30, 1952, he married Helen Klopfenstein in Bremen. They were married for 67 years. She survives.

Mr. Gudeman was a lifelong farmer, having started his own farm after returning from the service. He farmed in the Francesville and Medaryville areas where he established a loving home for his wife and four children. He enjoyed close interaction with each of his grandchildren. He loved his Lord and Savior and was a true man of God. He faithfully attended church with his family. He enjoyed singing and sang in different men’s quartets. He also served in various roles in his church. During his lifetime, he was a former member of the Apostolic Christian Church and Milroy Bible Church. He was currently a member of the Francesville First Baptist Church. His family appreciated his Christian example.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 23, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 24, at the funeral home with Pastors Dennis Gutwein and Nathan Braun officiating. Burial will be at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville. The American Legion will conduct military graveside services.
