Bradley D. Goble
December 30, 1961 to May 14, 2024
WINAMAC - Bradley D. “Brad” Goble, 62, lifelong resident of Winamac, passed away Tuesday, May 14, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 30, 1961 in Logansport to the late William C. and Sandra S. [Dillman] Goble. He was a 1980 graduate of Winamac Community High School. On May 2, 1982, he married Lorri L. Reinholt at St. Luke Lutheran Church. She survives.

Mr. Goble was a successful and respected businessman. He spent his life working alongside his father at Goble GMC, Inc. He retired in 2020, which allowed him and Lorri to enjoy time spent in Key West, FL. He spent many years serving on the Winamac Volunteer Fire Department. He liked playing golf league at Moss Creek, as well as hunting, trapping, and fishing. He was an avid collector of antique wares and cherished time spent with Lorri searching for the next find. He was a loving husband and devoted father and papa. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He was well known for his quick wit and sarcasm. On occasion, he would indulge with a fine cigar and aged bourbon. Most of all, he found great enjoyment relaxing on the banks of the Tippecanoe River. He will be sadly missed, “no doubt.”
Private services will be held at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Private burial will be at Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition) in Winamac.

Delores A. Schuttrow
September 11, 1942 to May 10, 2024
FRANCESVILLE - Delores Ann [Gustin] Schuttrow, 81, of Rensselaer, passed away peacefully at 4 a.m. Friday, May 10, at Franciscan Health Hospital of Lafayette, surrounded with love, memories and the comfort of her son, Patrick, at her bedside.
She was born Sept. 11, 1942 at the old Jasper County Hospital in downtown Rensselaer to the late Herman Cecil and Florence Caroline [Calhoun] Gustin. She was a 1960 graduate of Francesville High School. For eight years after graduation, she worked at Ryden Insurance Agency of Medaryville as a bookkeeper and policy writer. She married Charles J. Schuttrow on June 15, 1968 at St. Henry Catholic Church in Medaryville. He preceded her in death on June 18, 2010.

She is survived by her son, Patrick C. Schuttrow of Winamac; and Duard Honegger Jr., Glenn Honegger, Virginia (Andrew) Honegger Fisher, Grace (Michael) Honegger Majewski; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mrs. Schuttrow grew up on a farm south of Francesville, surrounded by loving neighbors she treasured for the rest of her lifetime. While growing up, she played piano at the United Methodist Church of Francesville, and later taught Sunday School for 44 years at Methodist churches. She and her husband spent their married life in Rensselaer. She worked with her husband at the former Saint Joseph’s College of Rensselaer in the public information department (news and sports). She spent many hours, often seeing the sun come up, working with her meticulous attention to detail and dedicating her life’s work to precise accuracy and excellence. In later years, she completed her working career as an administrative assistant. She was a member of the Richland Center United Methodist Church of Richland Center. She also was a member of the General Van Rensselaer Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Fuller Society, Rev. John Corbly Association, and the Indiana Chapter of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants. One of her most beloved memories was traveling during the summer of 2023 to Plymouth, MA and throughout the Eastern U.S. visiting the monuments and seeing the waters from which her ancestors first arrived. Throughout her life, she greatly enjoyed visiting with relatives, spending time with her pets, working in her flower beds and various crafts, including working on projects for the Winamac Community High School music and drama departments.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 13, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 14, at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Hartman officiating. Burial will be at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville.
Memorial donations will be used to purchase a memorial bench which will be placed near the Winamac Community High School Auditorium. Please make checks payable to the Winamac Music Boosters with “Memorial Bench” in the memo line.
Delores J. Dobson
April 16, 1939 to May 9, 2024
WINAMAC - Delores Jean Dobson, 85, of Winamac, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 9, at home, surrounded by her family.
She was born April 16, 1939 in Royalton, KY to the late James and Ellar [Stepp] Howard. On Dec. 18, 1954, she married James G. Dobson. He passed away Aug. 10, 2010 after 55 years of marriage.

Mrs. Dobson and her husband were proud parents of their four children. The couple shared a love for gospel music. They enjoyed hosting /entertaining friends and family. She was a member of the Wheatfield Pentecostal Church, and lived to serve the Lord - doing so quietly and humbly. She was a proud homemaker who loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Throughout the years, she enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing cards. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Wednesday, May 15, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon (Wednesday), at the funeral home with Thurman Ritchie officiating. Burial will be at Idle Cemetery in Francesville.
Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or the Jim Dobson Memorial Fund (through the Community Foundation of Pulaski County).

Gloria A. Rife

ROYAL Center - Gloria Ann (Miller) Rife, 86, passed away Sunday, May 5, at Northwest Health-Porter.

She was born June 8, 1937, in Logansport, to the late James and Pauline (Heater) Miller. On Nov. 27, 1970 she married JB Rife. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children Karen Sommers, Jeffrey and (Dawn) Rife, (Nancy) Rife; Grandchildren Paul (Chris) Brucker, Lynn (Todd) Edgell, Lance (Becki) Hiatt, Hillary (Chris) Pine, Adam Rife, Samantha (Eric) Wagner, Sierra (Colby) Wood; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers Mike (Linda) Miller and Gary Miller.
She is preceded in death by daughter Betty Ann Hiatt, son Robert Rife, brothers Jimmy Gill and twin Tom Miller, sisters Janet Benedict and Barbara Heater, plus three step-sisters Marjorie Burns, Charlotte Tribbett and Cecelia Schneider, and step-mother Pearl Miller.
In 1952, at the age of 15, Gloria started work at Cliffs Steakhouse in Logansport. In 1954, she moved to Winamac to work in the family-owned Millers Restaurant. She opened her own restaurant, Matilda's Cafe, in 1968. In 1976, she and her husband opened R & S Transport Equipment. While working at Vicky's Restaurant, she was known as Granny. She also worked at One-Eyed Jacks. She loved the restaurant business and all her customers. She was an avid bowler, and enjoyed card club, Red Hat Society, Bethel Bible Church with friend Mary Ann Rife, Summer Pool Club hosted by Linda Kroft, and she was a member of the VFW.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, May 13, at Rans Funeral Home & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, Royal Center. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 14, at the funeral home with Pastor Heath Hiatt officiating. Burial will be at McKinley Memorial Gardens, Winamac. A memorial dinner will be at the VFW following services.
Memorials may be given to the local VFW, Winamac.
Richard S. Rude
May 3, 1945 to May 4, 2024
ROYAL CENTER - Richard S. Rude, 79 of Royal Center passed away Saturday, May 4, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born May 3, 1945 in Winamac, he was the son of the late Harold and Vivian (Stoner) Rude. He was a Royal Center High School graduate, and a proud U.S. Army veteran who he served in the Vietnam War. On June 23, 1967 he married Rebecca L. Byrd. She survives.
Survivors also include children Brian (Linda) Rude of Logansport, Jennifer (Brad) Steill of Lafayette, Bradley Rude of Kokomo and Rachel Navel of Lafayette; sisters Carolyn Wischmann of Florida, Vivian (Richard) Howton of Elkhart, Ginger (David) Hoekstra of Michigan and Sharin (Michael) Najera of Florida; and grandchildren Sadie (Reed) McCormick, Ally (Reed) Schimmel, Jesse Reed, Hannah Steill, Rhett Steill, Brianna Rude-Doerges, Brooklyn Rude, Brandi Rude, Cody Rude and Mackinzee Rude.
He was also preceded in death by sister Alice Howard and great-grandchild Carson Rude.
Mr. Rude retired from the Iron Worker Union Local 379 in Lafayette. He was a former member of Star City Church of Christ and enjoyed golfing and spending time with family and friends.
Services will with military rites will be performed at 4 p.m., Thursday, May 9, at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, Royal Center. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.

Josic L. Wilcoxon

MEDARYVILLE - Josic L. “Jay” Wilcoxon, 82, of Medaryville (formerly of Gary), passed away Saturday, May 4, at his home.
He was born Sept. 1, 1941 in Cleveland, TN to Loss L. and Vira L. [Hagler] Wilcoxon. His family moved to Gary when he was a teenager when his father sought employment in the steel mills. After graduating from Calumet High School, he joined the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. Jay intended to make military service his career; however, that dream was cut short when he contracted tuberculosis while in Korea. On May 5, 1993, he married Suzanna “Sue” [Jones] Wolgemuth in Crown Point. She survives.

Together, Mr. Wilcoxon and his wife owned and operated ABC Business Services in Gary where they sold and repaired office equipment. The Y2K scare brought an unnecessary end to their company. The couple moved to Pendleton, IN where they took employment as a truck drivers for Schneider Trucking. He retired in 2004 when he began to experience health issues related to his war service. He was a member of the Medaryville American Legion Post 96 and the Medaryville Christian Church. He enjoyed tinkering on lawn tractors and fixing anything he could. He was a true “Mr. Fix-it”.
A celebration of life service will be held at the Medaryville Christian Church Annex in Medaryville. Burial will be at 10 a.m. (CDT), Thursday, May 16, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.

Pat Crippen Smith
April 29, 1949 to May 2, 2024
KEWANNA - Pat Crippen Smith, 75, of Kewanna passed away peacefully Thursday, May 2, at home.
Born April 29, 1949, she was the only child of Leon and Sally (Wilson) Crippen; (she always said they went for “quality not quantity.”) She married Tim Smith on Dec. 15, 1988. They were rarely apart and had a very special bond. It was obvious even at the end how much they loved each other. He survives.

Survivors also include children Jamie (Brian) Handy, Lyndee (Shawn) Duhnovsky, Jodi (Brad) Boldry, Jake (Michelle) Smith, Josh (Sumer) Smith; and 14 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her mother-in-law and father-in-law. Mrs. Smith retired from Pulaski Memorial Hospital. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She had a very special and strong relationship with Jesus from a young age. She was especially fond of teaching what she knew about the Scripture and always had a unique way of explaining it to others of all ages. She had many hobbies, including teaching the Bible, genealogy research, making jewelry, floral arranging, painting, crafting, riding four-wheelers and spending time with friends and family. She loved to travel, especially to do genealogy research. She was quick witted and always knew what to say to comfort others and make them laugh. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her on the power of perseverance through really difficult circumstances by leaning on her faith in Jesus and the power of prayer. She loved her family with all her heart through thick and thin no matter the circumstance. She will be greatly missed but she is finally home with Jesus and out of pain.
A graveside services will be at 1 p.m., Monday, May 6, at Grass Creek Cemetery.
