WINAMAC - Vivian Ann (Harness) Crull, 76, of Winamac (formerly of LaPorte) passed away Monday, April 7, at Northwest Health Hospital in LaPorte.
She was born May 28, 1948 in Plymouth, to the late Raymond and Rosezella Vermillion) Harness.

Mrs. Crull worked as a Qualified Medical Assistant for many years. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Private burial will be at Patton Cemetery in LaPorte. Memorial donations may be made to the cemetery.

Linda S. Nicolas
August 13, 1946 to April 7, 2025
WINAMAC - Linda Sue Nicolas, 78, of Winamac, passed away Monday, April 7, at her home.
She was born Aug. 13, 1946 in Flora, to the late Marion and Dorothy (Grindle) Freeman. She graduated from Star City High School in 1964, and the following year she graduated from Vogue Beauty School in South Bend. She married Steven Nicolas on June 26, 1965, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winamac. He survives.

Mrs. Nicolas worked as a beautician for 20 years, operating her own shop (Linda’s Cut and Style) from home. She also worked as a floral designer at Camelot Flowers and was a waitress at the Indian Head Restaurant and Bischoff’s Restaurant. She was instrumental in starting the Little Miss Pageant. She enjoyed crafting, especially making decorative frames for poetry. Linda and Steve traveled to many festivals and craft shows during the time they operated Loving Creations by Linda. She attended the First Christian Church in Winamac. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved her family dearly and will be sadly missed.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, April 10, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. The funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, April 11, at the funeral home with Pastor Stephen Sundquist officiating, Burial will be at Reed Cemetery in Winamac.
Memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with final expenses.

Audrey E. Fulmer Olson
April 27, 1941 to April 4, 2025
FRANCESVILLE - Audrey E. Fulmer Olson, 83, of Francesville, passed away Friday, April 4, at home, surrounded by her family.
She was born April 27, 1941 in Putnam, CT to the late John and Phyllis (Colby) Woodward. She graduated from Union Mills High School in Union Mills, IN. She married Ray C. Fulmer on Aug. 13, 1961, in Medaryville. He passed away Sept. 19, 2003. She married Francis Olson on Oct. 10, 2007, in Milford, IN. He passed away May 14, 2024.

Mrs. Fulmer Olson was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski, as well as the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed playing cards and fishing. She loved her Boston Terriers. Most of all, she loved her family very much - especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, April 7, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville. A scriptural wake service will be at 7:15 p.m., Monday at the funeral home, followed by a Christian Mothers service. A funeral mass will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski with Revs. Anthony Rowland, Dennis Faker and Joshua Bennett officiating. Burial will be at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Ronald McDonald House.

Helen Vollmer
September 25, 1925 to April 3, 2025
FRANCESVILLE - Helen Vollmer, 99, of Fishers, passed away Thursday, April 3.
Born Sept. 25, 1925, she spent most of her life in Francesville, before residing in Fishers for the past eight years. She married Robert Vollmer, on Sept. 1, 1943. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by children Denise (David) Neff of Montpelier, Mark (Bonnie) Vollmer of Westfield, and Janice (Don) Partlow of Lafayette; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers Bob Wendt, Ralph Wendt and Art Wendt; many special nieces and nephews; and countless friends whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by brothers Richard Wendt and Don Wendt.
Mrs. Vollmer had a passion for books and cherished her time working at the Francesville-Salem Township Public Library where she shared her love of reading with the community. She also found peace and fulfillment working outdoors, tending to her yard and appreciating the beauty of God’s creation. Her strong faith guided her through life, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and devotion. Her life was a testament to love, faith and family. Together, she and her husband built a home filled with faith, love and devotion. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who found joy in the simple blessings of life. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort knowing she is at peace in the presence of her Savior.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Saturday, April 26, at St. James Salem Community Church (10934 W 600 S, Francesville). A celebration of life service will follow at 12 noon (April 26), at the church with Rev. TJ Jenney Ph.D. officiating. Burial will be at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville.

WINAMAC - Monna L. Johnson Luttrell, 93, of Winamac, passed away Monday, March 31, at her home.
She was born July 12, 1931 in Francesville, to the late David S. and Grace E. (Sheppard) Losh. She married Marion Johnson on Sept. 8, 1951. He passed away April 2, 2002.

Mrs. Luttrell worked hard throughout her life and had been employed at Fratco in Francesville and Eaton Corporation in Winamac. She was a member of New Beginnings Family Fellowship Church in Winamac. She enjoyed shopping, crafting, baking and flower gardening. She also enjoyed playing her guitar and singing. Most of all, she loved her family very much.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, April 4, at New Beginnings Family Fellowship Church in Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. (Friday), at the church with Pastor Brent Smith officiating. Burial will be at Koster Cemetery in Francesville.

Julia A. Decker
January 2, 1949 to March 29, 2025
WINAMAC - Julia Ann Decker, 76, of Star City, passed away Saturday, March 29, at Northwest Health Porter Hospital in Valparaiso. She was surrounded by her sister, brother-in law and close friends after an unexpected battle with pneumonia and lingering health issues.
She was born Jan. 2, 1949, in Ft. Wayne, to the late Wayne and Marjorie Boze Decker. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1967, in Willis, MI. Following in her mother’s footsteps, she went to nursing school at Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing and graduated as a registered nurse in 1972.

She is survived by: Christine and William (Decker-Zerger) Zelmer, Battle Creek, MI, Sister and brother-in-law Laurie and William Moore, Niece, of Woodland, AL Shawn and Margie (Bailey) Zelmer, nephew, of Chesterfield, MI Other great-nephew and -nieces: Jacob and Marissa Zelmer, Nicolai and Shawnah Grabill, and Kendra and Kyra Zelmer
She was proceeded in death by: Robert Decker, Brother Randall Decker, Brother Great-grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
After nursing school, Ms. Decker moved close to home (in Ann Arbor) to work at the University of Michigan Hospital Respiratory ICU. She later moved to Detroit and worked in the Cass St Corridor working with TB patients. She received the “Spirit of Detroit” Award in August 1976 for her dedicated service to the people she served there. She later packed up and moved across country, pulling a small U-Haul to Pasadena, CA where she worked at LA Vina Hospital in charge of the respiratory unit. While there she found her love of pregnant mothers and babies and stayed in that field of nursing the rest of her career, gaining several awards and recognitions. She worked in OB not only in California but South Carolina and North Carolina, before settling down in Indiana. Her career became full circle when she went home to aid and help her mother who had started having health issues. She worked at Logansport Memorial as head of the OB and childbirth education. She finally retired working in OB at Pulaski Memorial Hospital. During her career she was certified as a doula, lamaz instructor, as well as a certifiied lactation consultant and teacher. She also worked at the public library in Winamac and volunteered for the Warrior Up program.
She especially loved Christmas, Easter and mostly spring and fall. She loved cooking, trying new recipes (as an extensive cookbook collection testifies to), and going out to eat with friends and family. One of her best memories was a cruise for her 50th birthday with sister Chris, as well as going to Italy with her niece and her family. A few years ago she did a memorial park trip out west and saw several national parks with dear friends, Sharon and Deb. Julia loved Jesus and attending church wherever she lived. It was a central and pivotal part of her life, and she acknowledged she was growing more and more in the Lord, the older she got.
A celebration of life will be at 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 25, at the Heartland Church in Winamac. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.

January 20, 1958 to March 29, 2025
WINAMAC - Jacek Para, 67, of Monterey, passed away Saturday, March 29.
He was born Jan. 20, 1958 in Biały Dunajec, Poland to the late Andrzej and Aniela (Gubal) Para.
A memorial gathering for Jr. Para will be from 12 noon to 4 p.m. (CT), Thursday, April 10, at Skyline Funeral Home (24800 S. Governors Hwy., Monee, IL), followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m. (CT).
