FRANCESVILLE - Gloria Lou (Getz) Brown, 89, of Winamac, (formerly of Valparaiso and Pulaski) passed away Sunday, May 11, at Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac.
She was born Jan, 23, 1936 in Francesville, to the late Alvin Paul and Pearl Elsie (Boehning) Getz. She graduated from Francesville High School. She married Newton H. “Newt” Brown, Jr. on August 1, 1954, in Winamac. He passed away April 17, 2012.

The Browns raised their children in Valparaiso. Mrs. Brown was a talented freelance artist who was well-known for her impressionistic works of art. Her works touched many lives and adorn homes all over the country. Her creative influence has been passed along to future generations of family and students. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Order of Eastern Star, Kiwanis Club, Red Hat Society and Home-Ec Club. She remained active throughout her life and enjoyed the many friendships made. Most of all, she was a loving and devoted mom, grandma, and great-grandma.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, May 15, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. (Thursday, May 15) at the funeral home with Pastor Kim Powell officiating. Burial will be at Pulaski Presbyterian and Community Cemetery in Pulaski.
Memorial donations may be made to Pulaski Fest-A-Mill (for the annual Christmas light display).
