FRANCESVILLE - The community is invited to a groundbreaking ceremony for the West Central Schools wind turbine project at 9:30 a.m., Friday (Sept. 30), in the football stadium. Excavation work will begin on the project on Friday (Sept. 16), the school board learned at its meeting Thursday night (Sept. 8). A construction meeting was held earlier in the day. Read more: Donnelly releases statement on President's jobs speech WASHINGTON, D.C. - Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and United States Trade Representative Ron Kirk announced Thursday (Sept. 8) the appointment of 148 private-sector members to the Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee (APAC) and six Agricultural Technical Advisory Committees (ATACs). Among them are Scott Fritz, a Winamac farmer, who has been named to the Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee for Trade in Grains, Feed, Oilseeds and Planting Seeds.
Pulaski County landowners had an opportunity to provide input into the next phase of the Pulaski County land use planning process at a public hearing Thursday evening (Sept. 8), at the public library in Winamac. Pulaski County Plan Commission president Don Good gave brief opening remarks and then invited those attending to walk around and view the county township maps that will accompany the proposed land use ordinances, and to fill out forms with their written comments or questions. Most members of the plan commission and county commissioners were present at the hearing. |
