Leamon E. Allen

March 17, 1919 to September 17, 2011

WINAMAC - Leamon E. Allen, 92, Winamac, passed away at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, at Life Care Center, Rochester.

He was born March 17, 1919, in Bradford, TN, to the late John Hall and Pearlie Billips Allen. He married Gladys Bellah on Feb. 16, 1955, in Gary. She survives.

Mr. Allen was a steel worker for 25 years for US Steel, Gary. He had been a resident of Winamac since 1984, coming from Merrillville. He was a member of the Winamac Assembly of God Church in Winamac. 
He was a member of the Winamac VFW #1728 & Winamac American Legion #71. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association and the Steelworkers Union. Leamon enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood working, and was a member of the ISAAK Walton League.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m., Monday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac; and one hour before the service Tuesday at the church. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday (Sept. 20) at Church of the Heartland, Winamac, with Pastor Jim Howard officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery, Rochester. Military graveside services will be conducted.

Memorial donations may be given to the Winamac Assembly of God Church.
