Glen M. Gutwein

July 13, 1928 to October 31, 2022

FRANCESVILLE - Glen Munz Gutwein, 94, of Francesville, passed away Monday, Oct. 31, at Franciscan Health Hospital in Rensselaer.

He was born July 13, 1928 in Francesville to the late Fred and Katie [Munz] Gutwein. He graduated from Francesville High School in 1948 where he was an enthusiastic and athletic yell leader. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on March 7, 1951. He married Mary Ann Altvater on June 26, 1960 in Milford, IN. She passed away on Dec. 12, 2016.

Mr. Gutwein was a lifelong farmer and worked at Gutwein Seeds in Francesville. He was a devoted member of the Francesville Apostolic Christian Church. He and his wife enjoyed winters in Bonita Springs, FL. He had a special hobby of making shell critters and shell bouquets. He loved spending time with his family, especially playing games with his grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 4, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville; and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Apostolic Christian Church in Francesville, with the ministers of the church officiating. Burial will be at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville. The American Legion will conduct military graveside services.
