Claude F. Olds
December 29, 1922 to May 10, 2012
WINAMAC - Claude F. Olds, 89, of Winamac, passed away at 1:20 p.m., Thursday, May 10, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.
He was born Dec. 29, 1922, in Hammond, to the late Earl H. and Clara Hamilton Olds. He married Edith C. Powers on May 1, 1943 in Winamac. She died May 11, 1996.

Randall (Kathy) Olds Bloomington, IL, Son and daughter-in-law and their daughter and her family Stephanie (Kyle) Griffin and sons Connor and Tyler.
Pamela (Thom) Dennis, Winamac, Daughter and son-in-law and their sons and their families Bradley (Gretchen) Dennis and their son Finnegan; Nathan (Melissa) Dennis and their children Lindy Dennis, Caitlin Haley, Justin Haley and Quentin Haley; and Kenton Dennis.

Mr. Olds served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a mechanic tending to landing craft during the invasion of Normandy. He was a farmer in Pulaski County most of his life. He worked as an upholsterer at the Studebaker plant in South Bend for several years following WWII. He was the Tippecanoe River State Park superintendent from 1964 to 1968. He ran the Olds Market vegetable stand in Winamac for several years.
He was a member of the DAV, VFW Post 78 in Winamac, American Legion Post and First United Methodist Church in Winamac. He was a member of the Winamac Masonic Lodge and the South Bend Scottish Rite. He was active in the local Democratic Party. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with family, especialy his grandchildren. He loved his dog Sis. He always enjoyed playing in a good card game. He always enjoyed visiting with friends and dicussing politics.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac and one hour prior to services at the church Tuesday. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday (May 15), at the First United Methodist Church, Winamac, Iwith Rev. Matt Landry officiating. Burial will be in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac. The American Legion and VFW will conduct a military graveside service.
Memorial donations may be given to First United Methodist Church building fund or the Disabled American Veterans.
