MEDARYVILLE - Jewel Williams, 84, 3503 E 1100 N, Wheatfield, passed away at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 5, at Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus, Valparaiso.

She was born Jan. 4, 1926, in Salyersville, KY, to Sam and Lilly Howard Minix. She married Morris Williams in Salyersville, KY. He died in September 1959.  She married Joseph Willis in 1967 in Medaryville. He died April 12, 2007.

Mrs. Williams had been a member of the Medaryville Assembly God Church in Medaryville. She worked faithfully within the church and the ministry. She had also worked many years at the Medaryville Garment Factory. She and husband Joseph were instrumental in starting the Winamac Assembly of God Church. They were licensed ministers and served in the ministry together. They also owned and operated the Winamac Hotel for many years.

Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m., Monday, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Medaryville. The funeral service will be  at  2 p.m., Tuesday (May 11), at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Dewlen officiating.
Burial will be in Goodway Cemetery, Medaryville.
