Laura M. Boehning

February 18, 1916 to November 1, 2017

FRANCESVILLE - Laura M. Boehning, 101, of Francesville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Parkview Haven Retirement Home, Francesville.

She was born Feb. 18, 1916 in McCoysburg, Ind. to the late Charles P. and Cora Klopfenstein Swing. She married George W. Boehning on Feb. 18, 1936 in Winamac. He died April 29, 2006. They were married for 70 years and were blessed with five sons.

She is survived by:

Thomas D. & Stacey, Boehning, Jupitor, Fla., Son & Daughter-in-law
David L. & Charlotte Boehning, Clark Summitt, Pa., Son & Daughter-in-law
John J.& Linda Boehning, Petaluma, Calif., Son & Daughter-in-law
10 Grandchildren,  24 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great-great grandson
A host of devoted Nieces, Nephews and Friends

She was preceded in death by:

Mrs. Boehning lived in Francesville most of her life. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ. She was a dedicated member of the Apostolic Christian Church and then the First Baptist Church, both in Francesville. She taught Sunday School for most of her adult life. She impacted hundreds of children in her church and community. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed embroidery, playing guitar and singing music. She also enjoyed baking cookies and making candy. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by all who knew her. The Boehning family would like to extend its gratitude to Pastor Dennis and Kitty Gutwein, as well as to all the staff of Parkview Haven for their attentiveness and loving care for Laura in her later years.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon (Tuesday), at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Gutwein officiating. Burial will be at Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.
