Lorna A. DePoy

October 29, 1944 to October 20, 2017

WINAMAC - Lorna Ann Fitz DePoy, 72, of Winamac, passed away at 8:56 a.m., Friday, Oct. 20, at Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac.

She was born Oct. 29, 1944 to the late Wayne Wood and Mary Catherine Neusbaum Fitz. On March 29, 1964, she married Darl Elmer DePoy at the Tippecanoe Christian Church, Winamac. He survives.

Mrs. DePoy graduated from Francesville High School in 1962. She earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Manchester College in 1965 and master's degree from Purdue University in 1972. She had worked as a teacher and a librarian. She taught second grade at West Central schools and Head Start in Winamac. She was employed as a librarian at Francesville, Winamac and Medaryville. She was a member of Tippecanoe Christian Church and the Pulaski County Extension Homemakers Club. She enjoyed gardening, music, reading and photographing historic barns. She enjoyed art and collecting.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the Tippecanoe Christian Church (5292 West 750 South, Winamac); and one hour prior to services Wednesday. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 25, at the church with Rev. Edward Clark officiating. Burial will be at Tippecanoe Cemetery, Winamac.

Memorial donations may be given to the Tippecanoe Christian Church Ladies Guild.
