State police investigate fatal crash near Star City

STAR CITY - A Logansport man was killed, and two men were flown to a Fort Wayne hospital, following a three-car accident late Sunday afternoon, south of Star City.

Dead is Antonio Arzola Jr., 24, Logansport. Bradyn Bordenet, 20, Lafayette, and Larry Williams, 67, Knox, were flown by medical helicopter to Fort Wayne, both with serious injuries, police report.

Preliminary investigation by the Indiana State Police reveals  that a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by Bordenet, crossed the center line on US 35, driving south in the northbound lane, forcing a 1930 Ford Model A off the road.

The driver of the Model A, Larry Williams, 67 of Knox, lost control and rolled the antique car approximately three times. Williams had just purchased the car and was headed home, according to the state police.

Bordenet's car then continued south in the northbound lane and struck a 1994 Honda Civic head on. That driver, Arzola, was pronounced dead at the scene by a member of the Pulaski County Coroner’s office.

The accident occurred at approximately 5:23 p.m., on U.S. 35, between CR 600E and CR 675S.

Arzola’s family has been notified, according to the police report.

Indiana State Police Troopers Dustin Rutledge and Todd Trottier were dispatched to do a reconstruction at the accident site.

This crash remains under investigation, and toxicology results are pending.
