Holly D. Sale

July 12, 1956 to June 30, 2017

HUNTINGTON - Holly Diane Sale, 60, of Huntington, died at 5:11 a.m. Friday, June 30, at Parkview Regional Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She was born July 12, 1956 in Logansport, the daughter of James T. and Claire L. (Mars) Connolly. She and Mark Sale were married on Sept. 3, 1983 in Winamac.

Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Mark of Huntington, a sister, Vicki (Jon) Canfield of Fort Wayne, and a brother, Dane (Lori) Connolly of Omaha, Neb. Also surviving are her mother-in-law, Lela Sale of Huntington, five nieces, and two nephews.

Her parents and her father-in-law, Robert Sale, precede her in death.

Mrs. Sale graduated from Winamac Community High School in 1974; she attended Purdue University for two years and graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1978 with a bachelor's degree in physical therapy. In 1989, she earned a master of health science degree in physical therapy from the University of Indianapolis. She started her physical therapy career at Huntington Memorial Hospital in June of 1978, (now Parkview Huntington Hospital), recently completing 39 years. She started as a staff physical therapist, then as director of rehabilitation services, and currently was director of Rehabilitation and Wellness, Physicians Specialty Clinic, and Service Excellence/Patient Experience for the past several years. She had a passion for the patient experience and service excellence, and a special interest in health and wellness and providing for the health care needs of the community.

Mrs. Sale was an active member of Salamonie Church of the Brethren, where she served as choir director, as she loved music and singing. She completed Huntington County Leadership Academy class in 2000. She was currently serving as president of the Huntington County Safety Council, secretary for the Parkview Huntington Boys and Girls Club, president of Huntington University Foundation, Huntington University Board of Trustees, board member with Pathfinder Services, and past board member of United Way and Red Cross. During her membership in Tri Kappa, Chi Chapter of Huntington, she held many offices including past president. She loved watching basketball and football, and was an avid Huntington University and Purdue fan. She enjoyed exercising, reading, and knitting. She loved spending time with family and friends, and loved traveling to the mountains or walking on the beach. She dearly loved her “Marcus Welby.” Romans 8:28 and Psalm 46, were Scriptures she lived by, and gave her comfort.

Visitation will be from 2 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 6, at Salamonie Church of the Brethren, 2662 West 600 South, Huntington, with Dr. Sherilyn Emberton officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Private burial will be at a later time.
