DAR announces 'Good Citizen' awards

The Metamonong Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) has announced the recipients of this year’s Good Citizens Award to two high school seniors.

Regan Culp of West Central High School and Jack DeGroot of Winamac Community High School were selected by teachers and peers for this award based on their leadership, service, and patriotism.

Each student completed an essay titled “Our American Heritage and Our Responsibility for Preserving It” to determine the chapter’s state finalist would be Regan Culp.

The DAR Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest was created in 1934 to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. The Metamonong Chapter congratulates these seniors on their outstanding accomplishments.
