Paul DeSabatine

May 31, 1931 to April 18, 2017

WINAMAC - Paul "Rusty" DeSabatine, 85, of Winamac, passed away at 12:22 a.m. ,Tuesday, April 18, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.

He was born May 31, 1931 in Chicago, to the late Alfonso and Anna DePirro DeSabatine. He lived most of his life in Winamac. He married Betty L. Reutebuch on Oct. 20, 1951, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pulaski. She survives.

Mr. DeSabatine went to school in Knox. He worked at Studebaker's, Kingsbury Powder Plant, and had his own milk route while also farming. He worked for the county and state highway departments. He started his own excavating business which his sons still operate today. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Winamac where he served on the St. Peter's cemetery committee. He was an avid fisherman. Most of his vacations were planned around fishing. He enjoyed playing euchre with his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved family.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m.Friday, April 21, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Winamac. A scriptural wake service be at 8 p.m., Friday at the church. A funeral mass will be at 10 a.m.Saturday, April 22, at the church, with Father Leory Kinnaman officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, Winamac.
