Alfred L. Budd II

June 27, 1960 to January 21, 2017

WINAMAC - Alfred L. "Pete" Budd II, 56, of Winamac passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, at his home with his family at his side after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born June 27, 1960 in Logansport to the late Alfred L. "Peelee" and Mary Lucille "Lucy" Johnson Budd. He was a 1979 graduate of Winamac Community High School. On Jan. 5, 1980, he married Debra L. "Deb" Girton. She survives.

Mr. Budd had worked as special projects engineer at The Braun Corporation for 38 years. His ingenuity was not limited to work - his talents are showcased in the many projects he completed at his home and his kids' homes. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, especially to the Great Smoky Mountains. He enjoyed mushroom and arrowhead hunting, gardening, grilling as well as campfires. He loved animals, especially his cat, Tucker. He was a loving and generous husband, dad, father-in-law, papaw, brother and friend. His grandbabies were the light of his life and his world. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 26, at the funeral home with Chaplain Joe Mollet officiating. Burial will be at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.

A benefit dinner to assist the family with medical expenses will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 10, at the VFW in Winamac.
