Medaryville man held in stabbing incident

MEDARYVILLE - A Medaryville man is being held at the Pulaski County Jail on three charges, including attempted murder, stemming from a stabbing incident Wednesday (Aug. 17) at a residence northeast of Medaryville.

The unidentified male victim sustained a stab wound to the chest, according to a police news release and was airlifted to a South Bend hospital.

Arrested was Christopher J. Robbins, 25, Medaryville.

Deputies from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched Wednesday to a residence near CR 1050W and CR 400N, along the Cass/Rich Grove Township line, in reference to a male subject who had been “stabbed." 

Deputies arrived on scene and located the victim who was assisted at the scene by Pulaski County EMS and later airlifted by Samaritan Medical Transport to South Bend for further treatment. The status of the victim was unavailable at the time of the police report. 

The suspect was identified by the victim as Robbins. Deputies obtained information that Robbins had fled the residence and was possibly located in a wooded area near the property. Upon a search, deputies located the suspect where they had been directed

Robbins was taken in to custody and later transported to the Pulaski County Jail where he is currently being held.

The next day, the Pulaski County Prosecutor’s Office filed the following charges against Robbins in Pulaski Circuit Court: 

  • Count 1 Attempted Murder (Level 1 Felony)
  • Count 2 Aggravated Battery (Level 3 Felony)
  • Count 3 Domestic Battery (Level 5 Felony) 

This is an ongoing investigation and further information will be released as it becomes available. 

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Medaryville Town Marshal’s Office, Indiana State Conservation Office, Pulaski County EMS, Medaryville Fire Department, and Samaritan Medical Transport.
