Cyril Vernal Conn

November 17, 1917 to April 4, 2010

 

Winamac - Cyril Vernal Conn, 92, of 624 E. 13th St., Winamac,  passed away at 5 a.m., Sunday, April 4, in Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac.


He was born Nov. 17, 1917, in Winamac, to William and Edna Conner Conn. He married Louise Loretta Malecki on May 14, 1949, in North Judson. She died June 26, 1997.

Richard Morrison, South Bend, Nephew
Frances Morrison, Warren, OH, Nephew
Sheila Jackson, Wheaton, IL, Niece

Preceded in death by:
Hazel Conn Morrison, Sister

 

Mr. Conn was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Winamac. He was also a member, past secretary and past master of Winamac Masonic Lodge #262 F&AM, life member of the South Bend Scottish Rite, Pulaski-Starke Shrine Club, and the ORAK Shrine in Hammond. He was a volunteer driver who took many children to the Shrine Hospital in Chicago.

Mr. Conn served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and was a life member of VFW Post #1728, Winamac. He was a former custodian at the Pulaski County Court House, Winamac.

Friends may call after 12 noon Wednesday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. Masonic services will be held at 1 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., (Wednesday, April 7), at the funeral home with Nelda Buckardt officiating. Burial will be in the Winamac Cemetery, Winamac. The VFW and American Legion will conduct military graveside services. 

Memorial donations may be given to the First Presbyterian Church, Winamac.
