PMH conducting update on Community Health Needs Assessment

Pulaski Memorial Hospital is in the process of completing the three-year update of the Community Health Needs Assessment in accordance to the Affordable Health Care Act, as required by law, and will publish the results and information from the surveys on the hospital’s website www.pmhnet.com

In accordance with the Patient Protection and Accountable Care Act, each hospital with a 501(c)(3) status must conduct a community health needs assessment and publicly report the results.

Carol Sparks of PMH shared information on the heath survey update at a recent Kiwanis Club meeting. With her is club member Gregg Malott.

Surveys will be distributed to a wide variety of community members through the use of Pulaski Memorial Hospital’s website, church groups, and other civic organizations.

As a primary provider of healthcare related services in Pulaski County, the hospital plays a key role in addressing the health needs of our community’s residents.

PMH will also provide its progress in addressing the needs identified in the 2013 Community Health Needs Assessment. The assessment helps to identify priority health issues for which better integration of public health and healthcare can improve access and quality to residents of Pulaski County and surrounding areas.

This document will also be used as a tool to plan strategic initiatives to increase medical services to meet the critical health needs of citizens whose health is at-risk in our community.

This project represents Pulaski Memorial Hospital’s efforts to share information that can lead to improved health status and quality of care available to Pulaski County and surrounding residents, while building upon and strengthening the hospital’s existing infrastructure of services and providers.
