County recorder to be new clerk

The Pulaski County Republican Party has selected county recorder Christi Hoffa to serve out the remainder of county clerk Tasha Foerg's term.

Foerg has resigned her office, effective Dec. 31. She is moving out of the area.

Hoffa was the only candidate to file for the office. She will assume her new duties Jan. 1

Party officials chose her to replace Foerg during a caucus Tuesday (Nov. 10).

Party chairman Blair Todd reports a caucus will be scheduled in early December to choose a new county recorder. Before it can be scheduled, Hoffa needs to submit her resignation notice in writing.

Hoffa was elected recorder in November 2012, and the office will be up for election again in 2016. Foerg was elected clerk in 2010, and re-elected in 2014.
