Heater elected to new term on Winamac Town Council

WINAMAC - Incumbent Winamac Town Councilwoman Judy Heater was certified for a one-year term, following a Pulaski County Republican Party Convention Thursday evening (Aug. 13).

She received 36 votes to Rudy DeSabatine’s 25 on the first ballot.

Because there were no Republican/Democrat contested races, Winamac will not need to hold a November municipal election.

Heater was elected to the town council in March of 2014 to fill the remainder of James DeArmond’s term. She previously served 16 years as Winamac Clerk-Treasurer before to her retirement from that post four years ago.
