New name, logo for Community Foundation

The local community foundation has announced its new name and logo.

“Community Foundation of Pulaski County” may seem to be a very slight change from the former “Pulaski County Community Foundation,” but it is an important one, according to Wendy Rose, executive director. “The revised name identifies first what we are - a Community Foundation - and then the community we serve: Pulaski County.”

The change will also aid in eliminating confusion with county government agencies.

In addition to the change in name, the Community Foundation is presenting a new logo and vision.  The new, clean-cut logo embraces the agricultural theme of the foundation’s vision in a simple way.

The Community Foundation of Pulaski County's vision is “Cultivating Growing Communities.”

Jim Ketchen, one of 15 directors on the board says the three words within this vision statement were selected very purposefully. Defining each word, Ketchen explained how the board intends for the community to interpret the new vision.

“Cultivating” acknowledges the county’s agricultural heritage. “Growing” reflects the foundation’s mission to serve and enrich Pulaski County, today and tomorrow, through endowed funds. “Communities” recognizes that while we are one county, it is comprised of a number of unique communities.

To spread the word about the foundation’s changes, an online video/survey is being offered beginning July 1, running through July 15. The survey will offer the opportunity to choose a local charity for a one-time special grant from the Community Foundation. The charity with the most votes will be the winner.

The Community Foundation’s current website, pulaskiccf.org, will soon change to cfopc.org to reflect its new name.
